Hi, I’m Elizabeth, a communication coach and the founder of Speech Happens. I created this practice in 2025 as a supportive, accessible space to help people work toward their communication goals — whether that means speaking clearly in a boardroom, holding an audience on stage, or simply finding the confidence to speak up.
I’ve been a licensed speech-language pathologist since 2009, working with people from all walks of life on everything from public speaking to accent refinement. I hold ASHA’s Certificate of Clinical Competence and am an ASHA Fellow, a recognition given to a small number of the organization’s 247,000 members.
But long before any of that, I was a teenager trying to find her voice in a new country.
When I moved to the U.S. from India, my accent often overshadowed what I was trying to say. People focused on how I spoke rather than what I said — it was frustrating, isolating, and at times discouraging.
Over the years, I worked to develop a clear American English accent — not to erase my identity, but to gain control over how I was perceived. That experience shaped everything I do today.
At Speech Happens, I combine technical expertise with compassion and real-world understanding to help others find their voice. My coaching is practical and judgment-free, built to give you the tools to speak clearly, confidently, and authentically in any setting.
